about
An anti-war protest song written way back in the early years of this century... it seems as apt, if not more so, than ever now. As an attempt to do something, anything, however small, for the people of Ukraine; any money I make from this track, and indeed any of my music on here, until the Ukrainian people are free of tyranny and oppression from Putin's invasion, will go to WithUkraine to help humanitarian efforts.
lyrics
Lost in water, rhyme and songs in fields of poppies they are gone.
Ripped apart they turn to dust, the young advanced and then were lost to us. The Earth swallowed up. What are we become?
Terror falls through months and years, numbed by pain of loss and tears.
Cities rubble, turned by light, of hating eyes to ashen white. Despised. We rationalise. Become the evil things we fight.
Lost. We are lost.
They go to war in justice name but fight for oil and lust of gain. The young are duped by honour's call; obscene requests before they fall before the Imperial. They die for nothing good at all.
Lost. We are lost.
